Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas is You
According to sources, Hip Hop superstar Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is planning to surprise many New Year’s Eve revelers in New York this year.
Diddy and Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka have made an unprecedented offer to the City of New York. They plan to $1 million to a charity on behalf of the city in exchange for a New Year’s Eve ball takeover.
Ciroc (who struck a deal with Diddy who is branding the vodka) has already secured an enormous presence in Times Square this holiday season with billboards.
But now Diddy and Ciroc want to change the historic crystal ball to reflect its iconic blue sphere.
Diddy said:
“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ it’s only fitting that we take over New York, the most iconic New Year’s city in the world. I’m going to give every adult in America a taste of what it’s like to enjoy a sophisticated celebration with Diddy, and what better time than while ringing in the New Year.”

According to Star Magazine, Nelly is ready to propose to his girlfriend of five years, Ashanti. But there’s just one problem: He can’t stand her mother, Tina Douglas!
“Tina sticks her nose in everything because she’s also Ashanti’s manager,” a source tells Star. “She’s always pushing Ashanti to make more money, to always look great. It stresses her out, and Nelly doesn’t like that.”
The rapper, 34, has tried to encourage Ashanti, 28, to become more independent, but “Tina has such a strong personality that she’s kind of afraid of her.” Still, if the singer doesn’t put her mom in her place soon, she won’t be getting that rock she’s been hoping for.
“Before he makes her his wife,” adds the source, “Nelly wants to know that Ashanti can make decisions on her own.”

Model Falls to Her Death in England
Sahar Daftary, 23, who was crowned the Face of Asia last year, fell from a 12th floor flat in Manchester at the weekend.
Her 33-year-old former lover was arrested on suspicion of murder but was released on bail without charge.
Initial findings suggested Miss Daftary’s death appeared to be either a tragic accident or suicide, police sources said.
At the family home in Brentford, west London, her mother said: “I don’t believe my daughter would have done this herself. She had booked a holiday to Dubai and also it is against her religion.
“We don’t know exactly what happened to Sahar. We are just waiting for news from Manchester when we should know more. The truth will come out.”
Her brother-in-law Joe Karim said: “She would never commit suicide. It was against everything she believed in. She had everything to live for. She was a beautiful, intelligent, religious woman.”
The family said Miss Daftary had given up modelling and had started a course at Thames Valley university studying business and accounting.
She had recently split from Rashid Jamil, a property developer, after discovering he had already been married, the family said.
She was also upset that a sexually explicit video of her had appeared on the internet.
Her family, who are Sunni Muslims originally from Afghanistan, said Miss Daftary and Mr Jamil went through an Islamic ceremony declaring their love for each other at the Holiday Inn in Brentford in December last year.
After the split she had gone to his £200,000 flat in Manchester to remove her possessions. During the visit she fell from the window.
Police have confirmed that her former boyfriend rang 999 saying he needed help. He later rang police to say she was dead.
According to her family Miss Daftary had been looking forward to celebrating her birthday on Christmas Day in Dubai.
Their solicitor Brian Koffman said: “The family are devastated at the tragic loss of Sahar. She had pre-booked a flight to Dubai to celebrate her 24th birthday on Christmas Day with five friends.
“We firmly believe there is no way she would have committed suicide. It would be contrary to her religious beliefs.”
One of her friends Fatima Raddani, 30, already in Dubai, said: “She was beautiful, very friendly and very happy. She was loved by all.
“Sahar would not dream of doing anything like this. She was a very straight girl. It is not like Sahar. She was not even in that mindset.”
Tributes also poured in to the model on a social networking website.
Her cousin Zareen Qadri, 20, said: “She was the best. She was the most beautiful person both inside and out that you could have met.”
Friend Diwa Zai said : “I can’t live without you Sahar, why did you leave me?”
The couple had declared their love in an Islamic ceremony last year.

If RZA had his way, he’d have Rihanna — for his new film. The Wu-Tang Clan kingpin is co-producing a remake of the 1980s fan favorite “The Last Dragon” with Samuel L. Jackson and told MTV News yesterday he’d like the sexy Barbadian songstress to take on the role of video show host/singer Laura Charles. Popular back-in-the-day vamp Vanity originated the role in the 1985 flick, while Taimak tackled the lead character and her romantic interest, Bruce Leroy (a.k.a. Leroy Green).
“That’s the one I’m rooting for,” RZA said of Rihanna. “We’re keeping that same concept of the girl being in the music business.”
RZA explained that several female artists were being looked at for the part, but he thought Rih would be the best choice. He also noted that he and the filmmakers were in the process of finding a new-millennium Bruce Leroy but wouldn’t disclose the identities any of the candidates. (Hey, how about Rihanna’s pal Chris Brown?)
Late actor Julius Carry, who guest-starred on a myriad of TV shows from the “Jeffersons” to “Moonlighting” to “The Unit” during his almost-30-year career, stole the show in the first “Last Dragon” as Sho’nuff, the Shogun of Harlem. The villain’s classic line was “Kiss my Converse!” Sam Jackson has been cast as the hilarious baddy in the remake. (Busta Rhymes played Sho’nuff in his video for 1997’s “Dangerous.”)
“I’m co-producing and I’ll add my martial arts expertise and add my ideas and make a phat film from that cult classic we all loved as kids,” RZA explained. “The first draft of the script is in right now. We definitely should be shooting in ’09.
“We’re gonna make it real classic,” the Shaolin general added. “We’re not gonna take it back to the ’80s. We’re gonna try it a few years ahead. Modern times, but a few steps ahead in the future. We got some crazy ideas, but the main thing is still finding that glow. That’s still the theme of the film, to find that glow in yourself.”
