Designer Spotlight!: Louis Vuitton Graffiti & Rose Collection

Marc Jacobs and Stephen Sprouse

Louis Vuitton’s new Graffiti & Rose collection, which features a range of accessories, is a homage to Stephen Sprouse, who collaborated with the house’s creative director Marc Jacobs eight years ago.

Bags, shoes, bangles, sunglasses, leggings, scarves and clothing – all contain the neon colored graffiti done by Stephen Sprouse.

To celebrate this month’s Stephen Sprouse book and exhibition, Marc Jacobs even got naked for Harper’s Bazaar and posed for fashion photographer Terry Richardson holding a bag from the Graffiti collection.

Yummy!!: Fantasy Fudge Recipe

Classic fantasy fudge – so good, but oh-sooo bad. It’s an icon of holiday indulgence, and the rich, smooth chocolate squares are hard to resist. You’ll love the way each bite feathers against the enamel of your teeth. You’ll love the jolt of tooth-ache inspiring sweetness that dissipates before you know what hit you. That being said, Enjoy it!!

Added to the recipe is  a bar of Scharffen Berger 62% semi-sweet chocolate. If you like your fudge smooth, so no nuts in that version – but if you like your fudge chunky, the original calls for 1 cup chopped walnuts.

I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m nearly positive you can do a delicious vegan version of this recipe by using coconut oil in place of the butter. Also, for reference, Kraft Marshmallow Creme doesn’t have gelatin in it, but it does have corn syrup, artificial color and flavor, and egg whites (for those of you avoiding animal-related products). The original, classic fantasy fudge recipe was printed on the side of Kraft Marshmallow Creme jars.

Fantasy-ish Fudge Recipe

They used Ricemellow Creme here. If you can’t find Ricemellow Crème in your natural food store, you can still use regular marshmallow creme with good results. Vegans, they almost did this with coconut oil – they think it would be a reasonable (and tasty) substitute for the butter here.

1 9.7-ounce bar of good-quality semi-sweet chocolate (62% Scharffen Berger)
3 cups organic cane sugar
3/4 cup unsalted butter
2/3 cup lite coconut milk (regular is fine too)
7 ounces Ricemellow Crème (or the marshmallow creme of your choice)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Butter a 13×9 baking dish. Alternately, you can line it with parchment paper. Finely chop the chocolate bar and set aside.

Combine the sugar, butter, and coconut milk in a thick-bottomed medium-large saucepan. Bring the mixture to an active boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling for five minutes over medium heat – if you are using a candy thermometer it should reach about 235F degrees. Remove from heat, stir in the chopped chocolate. Continue stirring until the chocolate is melted, add then add the Ricemellow Creme, vanilla, and nuts (if you are using them).

Pour the fudge into the prepared baking dish, and let cool. After 5 minutes or so, I use a spatula to make a swirl texture on the top of the fudge (optional). You can let it set at room temperature, but I like to let it cool in the refrigerator overnight, where it sets up nicely, making it simple to slice into 1/2-inch cubes. Tip: A thin knife is best for cutting, or (even better) a large pizza cutting wheel.

Makes a couple hundred tiny fudge bites.

All On The Cover: Jennifer Aniston Covers GQ

Jennifer Aniston is not afraid to show her body, or her feelings for her ex Brad Pitt, in the January 2009 issue of GQ.

Jennifer Aniston is not shy.

Wearing nothing but a necktie in the January issue of GQ magazine, she not only bares her soul about the current state of her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt, she bares just about every inch of her body, before she turns the big 4-0.

Aniston is sandwiched between two seemingly naked men. The star of the upcoming movie Marley & Me tells GQ that while the two are hardly best friends, they do still keep in touch. Inside, there’s a candid interview in which Aniston calls her relationship with Angelina Jolie and Pitt an “insane Bermuda Triangle.”

Below are more photos of Jennifer Aniston.

“When there’s something to congratulate or celebrate, there’s an exchange,” she tells the magazine. “But there’s no charge on it.” There is, however, quite a charge in the racy photos Aniston posed for, wearing nothing but a red, white and blue tie, reclining on the ground between two buff boys.

It’s hard to believe the former “Friends” star is 39 years old. The “body” part, at least, is quite apparent.

She jokingly continues: “The funny thing is that people don’t realize we all go away to the Hamptons on the weekends … No. But can you imagine? That’d be hysterical: I’ve got Zahara on my hip, and Knox …” she said, referring to two of Jolie and Pitt’s six — and counting — kids.

But she says she and Pitt do speak from time to time: “When there’s something to congratulate or celebrate, there’s an exchange. But there’s no charge on it.”

More of what she said in the interview:

On looking jaw-dropping at 39: “I feel more comfortable today than I ever did in my 20s or early 30s,” she said. “I’m healthier. I’m more at peace in my mind and with my body.”

On her on-again boyfriend John Mayer: “Honestly, did not know much about him before I met him. I’d heard … you know, uh, ‘Your Body’ – that song. But what I can say is that I had no idea what an extraordinary musician he is. And it’s just great to sit and be witness to that. It’s kind of like, Whoa!”

On the rumors surrounding pregnancy and marriage: “I am not having his baby. And I have not popped the question.”

On Aniston’s current work on the film, “Pumas,” which she calls “sort of a female ‘Wedding Crashers’” about two “aspiring cougars”: “It is so a comment on the sexual double standard, and what’s been ironic is how hard it’s been to get this movie made,” she says. “Studios want it, but they are afraid of Middle America. They’d want to change it; they’re saying, ‘Oh, you can’t do that, people just can’t imagine you …’”

On female movie roles in Hollywood: “Look, I think all women on some level just want to rage against the machine,” she says. “There are too many movies out there that don’t empower women, movies in which their only way of being happy is finding a man. And you know, that’s not my favorite theme.”

The January issue of GQ hits newsstands December 23. Excerpts of the cover story appeared in the New York Post, People.com, JustJared.com and wowowow.com.

Aniston isn’t the only piece of the “Bermuda Triangle” running her mouth. Brad Pitt recently spoke to Rolling Stone. In the interview he says that he and his partner Jolie don’t fight. Pitt says, “I don’t want to waste time being angry at someone I love.”

What do I do about my Ex Boyfriend?

questionWe dated for almost 3 yrs and now that we have broke up, he wants nothing to do with me. He won’t speak to me and he tries to avoid me when he sees me. What does it mean?

answerYou should back off.  He’s not ready to, or doesn’t want to deal with you being a part of his life again. He does not have to be your friend and obviously doesn’t want to be. You should just leave him alone.

My fiance’s mom hates me, what can I do?

question I have been with my fiancé for two years and we are planning to get married next year. He has a 4-year-old child from a previous girlfriend who is very jealous of our relationship and us. His mother is close to his ex and as a result, she doesn’t like me. I think his ex may be spreading rumors about me. Is there anything I can do to fix, or create a relationship with my fiancé’s mom?

answer You have to remember that you’re marrying the son, not the mom. Your focus should be on your relationship with him. If you treat him right and he’s happy, eventually mom will see that and she’ll soften up. Don’t push too hard trying to get this woman to like you. Be polite when speaking to her and just be yourself.
