Chris Brown arrives in court after being charged with assault… but Rihanna ‘will not testify’…

Chris Brown has been charged with assault following the ‘brutal argument’ which left the singer with shocking facial injuries.
Early this morning Brown arrived at the Superior Court of Los Angeles County to answer charges of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats.
Rihanna, who is said to have reconciled with him, has allegedly told police she will not testify or press charges against her boyfriend.
According to Californian law, an individual can still be charged with domestic violence even without the victim’s cooperation.

Court documents identify Brown’s alleged victim only as Robyn F. Rihanna’s real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.
If convicted the possible sentence ranges from probation to four years and eight months imprisonment.
According to a detective’s affidavit, 19-year-old Brown and 21-year-old Rihanna got into a fight on February 8 after the Umbrella singer found a three-page text message from another woman on Brown’s mobile.
Brown pulled his car over and tried to push Rihanna out, but she was still wearing her seatbelt, Los Angeles Police Detective De Shon Andrews wrote.
He said Brown then pushed Rihanna’s head against the window, punched her with his right hand, and continued driving while hitting her, the affidavit states. He also bit her on the ear, the affidavit states.
The affidavit was filed as part of a search warrant request for the phone records of Brown, Rihanna and her assistant.
Brown allegedly threatened to kill Rihanna after she pretended to leave a phone message with her assistant, telling her to have the police waiting at her house.

Andrews described Brown’s blows as causing Rihanna’s mouth to fill with blood. He also writes that Brown tried to choke Rihanna after she took the keys to his car away.
Andrews wrote that Rihanna nearly lost consciousness but also tried to fight back while in the car, at one point trying to gouge at Brown’s eyes.
Brown was arrested hours later on suspicion of making criminal threats.
Brown issued a statement a week after the incident saying that he was sorry and saddened’. Rihanna also later issued a statement, saying she wouldn’t comment on the alleged beating at the request of authorities. She thanked fans for their support.
The alleged attack came hours before the couple were scheduled to appear and perform at the Grammy Awards. Neither made the ceremony.
Rhianna’s decision to return to her boyfriend has prompted an online backlash from fans who have started an online petition discouraging the singer from getting back with Brown.
The website Don’t Do It Rihanna has attracted around 1,000 signatures so far, spurred by a photo leaked online that supposedly pictured the Umbrella singer following the alleged assault.
Earlier this week Brown and Rihanna returned to LA together after their reconciliation in Florida.
According to reports they reunited at the weekend at the Miami home of producer Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
At the time, Brown was seen jet skiing around Star Island looking carefree and talking with friends on the jetty of the mansion.
The couple flew back to LA on Monday and checked in together at the Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills hotel.
