Kanye West’s “G.O.O.D. Fridays” series is officially over…well at least for now. The rapper who has been hard at work on his upcoming album released several statements via Twitter Thursday morning (Sept 30th), after a premature version of “Lost in the World” hit the internet on Sept. 29th. The leaked song which features Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, spread like wildfire despite the fact that it only has one verse of recorded vocals. Naturally, West himself is not too happy about this leak and decided it’s best to end his free music giveaway.
On Twitter, West stated that he was upset by this leak, particularly because the versions circulated are not finished and that he had been generous in supplying free music already.
“Due to blogs leaking unfinished songs from my actual album I’ve decided to pass on Good Fridays this week,” West wrote.
“It’s messed up that one hacker can mess everything up for everyone… I love to take a year to finish my songs and deliver them to you guys in their most completed form. It would have seemed like since I give free music every week even the lowest form of human being would respect that enough not to leak unfinished songs from my real album.”
Despite various reports to the contrary, the album still does not have a confirmed title or release date. Although previous reports slate the album for an early November release.
