Just In: Oprah Speaks Out About Rihanna and Chris Brown

Oprah Winfrey is the latest celebrity weighing in on Rihanna and Chris Brown’s domestic drama. And she’s taking action, too.

“Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I was your friend, I would call you up and I would say, ‘Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself,’ ” Winfrey said during a live, roundtable discussion Friday on her talk show. “‘Heal yourself first.”

She additionally strongly advised, “And also, love doesn’t hurt. I’ve been saying this to women for years: ‘If a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’”

Moved by the allegations of abuse, and the fact that Rihanna is still dating Brown, Winfrey says she plans to dedicate an upcoming episode of her show to the topic of domestic violence.

“It makes me so sad that I said to the producers, ‘I want to do a show about it this week dedicated to all the Rihanna’s of the world,’ ” Winfrey said, citing a statistic that one out of four women in the country are battered.

Sitting at the table with Winfrey, Gayle King echoed her friend’s sentiments while she also weighed in about the pop stars’ relationship.

“My thing about this is, if you guys want to get back together, I’m okay with that, but at least take some time,” she said. “I’m so worried that she’s sending the wrong message to the fans. And [to] him, too.”

Just In: Rihanna Is Back In The Studio Plus More

Rihanna’s back in the studio…

Rihanna’s back to work getting ready to record her next project — and here is the inside scoop from her producer Adonis Shropshire on how she is doing.

“With anybody in the world who goes through something, you have to bring yourself out of it,” Adonnis tells HipHollywood.com. Her refuge is her music, of course.

Plus: Chris Brown Agrees to Pay Rihanna 10 Million Dollars for Possible Future Assault?…

Rihanna has made Chris Brown sign a contract that stipulates that if he hits her again,he will have to pay her up to $10 million.

Chris Brown reportedly has scored a deal with the female R ‘n’ B singer, in which it is stated that he agrees to pay her “as much as $10 million” and possibly more “if he as much as squeezes her arm the wrong way.” Report on the deal that the twosome has scored was made public by Chicago Sun-Times on Friday, March 6.

Beside the cash, part of the deal also includes Chris and Rihanna’s plan to co-author a book about abuse. The pair, moreover, agrees to appear together at a number of talk shows to speak directly to their fans and the general public about abusive behavior.

“The only way Chris can possibly reverse things is to come clean and help raise awareness about abusive relationships,” a source close to Chris’ legal team told Chicago Sun-Times. “Obviously this is a public relations campaign, but it only will work if there’s genuine healing, contrition and a path to preventing future problems. … It’s another example of trying to turn a bad situation into something good … where people can learn to change habits,” added the source.

In the meantime, Access Hollywood has obtained an e-mail written by Chris’ publicist Michael Sitrick to Chicago Sun-Times’ columnist Bill Zwecker who wrote report on Chris and Rihanna’s deal, claiming in it that several elements of the columnist’s report are not true, including the book deal and the $10 million contractual agreement. Asked about the deal, Rihanna’s attorney, “Donald Etra, told Access Hollywood he knows nothing of such a deal.”

Rihanna’s dad says he lost his contact with her?…

Us Magazine interviewed Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, very recently and I thought I’d share some of the key comments he made.

He was asked about what he thought about Chris Brown being charged with assault and making criminal threats. He says, “Justice can never be served in this situation. He can’t feel the pain she felt.”

Of having contact with his daughter he says he “can’t get on to her. Her mother can’t get on to her, her brother told me she changed her email. Somebody has a stranglehold on her. I’m lost.”

He says that he tried calling her phone number expecting his daughter to answer, but instead it was someone else who picked up the call.

The worried father explains, “I’ll text the old numbers she had, and I call them. One girl answered, and she said, “This is not Robyn’s number anymore.” I asked, “Do you work for Robyn? Do you deal with Robyn?” And the girl hung up, so I don’t know what’s going on anymore. I’m lost.”

Ronald claims the last text that he received from Rihanna read “Daddy, I miss you” and that he wrote back but never got a reply.

Oprah gives Advice to Rihanna & Chris Brown…

One of the most powerful women in the world, Oprah Winfrey, is speaking out about the Chris Brown-Rihanna incident.

“It makes me so sad,” Oprah said on Friday’s live edition of her popular talk show. “Love doesn’t hurt. If a man hits you once, he will hit you again,” she warned.

Her advice for the recently reunited couple? “If I were your friend, I would call you up and say give it some time. Get yourself some counseling.”
