NOTES: Dirty Mind, Lonely Heart: John Mayer on Jennifer Aniston, Tiger Woods & Masturbating

A shirtless John Mayer is on the new cover of Rolling Stone, and inside he talks a lot about sex, finding a partner, and masturbation. Mayer himself has read it, as he tweeted, “Just read my Rolling Stone cover article. I’m still not sure if I would want to hang out with me” “After 30 minutes of twirling my hair into a knot, I say “fuck it.” You can’t go wrong if you tell the truth.”

Here are some highlights from his interview.

About Jennifer Aniston: The 32-year-old singer-guitarist admits he prefers Continuum to his 2009 disc Battle Studies (“I know that I’m supposed to say that my newest is the best one. Bullshit,” he says), that he hasn’t stopped thinking about his split with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston (“I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life”) and that his sex life has become an endless loop of new girls rejecting him in clubs (“Blowing me off is the new sucking me off!”).

Mayer also talks about, among other things, masturbation and Tiger Woods: “I have masturbated myself out of serious problems in my life. The phone doesn’t pick up because I’m masturbating. And I have excused myself at the oddest times so as to not make mistakes. If Tiger Woods only knew when to jerk off. It has a true market value, like gold bullion. First of all, I don’t jerk off because I’m horny. I’m sort of half-chick. It’s like District 9. I can fire alien weapons. I can insert a tampon. No, I do it because I want to take a brain bath. It’s like a hot whirlpool for my brain, in a brain space that is 100 percent agreeable with itself.”

And what he’s looking for: Mayer’s in the midst of a massive 10-year record deal and enjoys the pleasures of late-night weed-and-video-game sessions, as well as his $20 million vintage watch collection, but what he truly wants, he tells RS, is to finally find a a female companion. But not just any girlfriend — Mayer is after “the Joshua Tree of vaginas.” “I’ll be happy when I close out this life-partner thing,” he says. “Think of how much mental capacity I’m using to meet the right person so I can stop giving a fuck about it.”

Grab the new issue for Mayer’s full advice for Tiger Woods (”I have masturbated myself out of serious problems in my life”) and more on his journey from bedroom guitar player to the most angst-ridden playboy in rock.

NOTES: Jennifer Lopez is soooo back!

American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez graces the cover page of fashion magazine Elle US for the month of February 2010. J-Lo talks about on motherhood, heartbreak, and the future of her career, and revealed that she never considered in vitro fertilization because she’s a traditional woman.

Here are some highlights from her interview.

On why she never considered in vitro fertilization, like her character in The Back-Up Plan: “When it comes to family and relationships, I’m quite traditional. Just because of the way I was raised. And I also believe in God and I have a lot of faith in that, so I just felt like you don’t mess with things like that. And I guess deep down I really felt like either this is not going to happen for me or it is. You know what I mean? And if it is, it will. And if it’s not, it’s not going to.”

On the merit of her romantic comedies:  “I think Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law are very layered movies. And that’s why they’re so successful. People don’t like shitty romantic comedies. Nothing that’s shitty is going to make $100 million.”

On hosting a dinner for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor: “She didn’t realize what she was going to symbolize. And it’s always scary to be thrown into it–that’s what I felt like when I did Selena. You’re thrown out there, and all of a sudden you’re not anonymous. You are now known. And that’s a lot to handle. It’s scary at first. Then you get used to it. And so she was in that moment of her life where it’s just like, What the hell? Everybody’s clapping for me. People are writing about me, talking about me, I’m on TV. She was just a judge in New York.”

On competing with twenty-something pop idols as a 40-year-old mom: “This is what I do—what, because I have kids and a husband now I’m not supposed to be me? I’m a more heightened me if anything. Hyper J.Lo. Everything I wanted before, I want twice as much now. And that doesn’t mean material things; it means to explore more, to think more. Being an artist doesn’t start because you’re 21, and it doesn’t end because you’re 51. You are who you are until the day you die.”

On betrayal: “This is something I haven’t been through once in my life. This is something I’ve been through a few times in my life. Where you really have your eggs in one basket and that breach happens and you know you should go but you’re still in love and you just don’t know what to do. It hits you because it’s not like you’re a cheater, and a liar, and I hate you, and you’re no good, and I’m leaving. It’s not that. It’s like, I’m tormented. Even though you’ve done this and I know it, I still don’t know what to do. I know I should go, but I don’t want to. And that’s why it’s such a fucked-up thing.”

Breaking News: Patrick Swayze Loses His Battle With Pancreatic Cancer

Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into moviegoers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully on Monday with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” his publicist, Annett Wolf, said in a statement Monday evening. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but she declined to give further details.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from a particularly deadly form of cancer. He kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting “The Beast,” an A&E drama series for which he had already made the pilot.

Swayze said he opted not to use painkilling drugs while making “The Beast” because they would have taken the edge off his performance. The show drew a respectable 1.3 million viewers when the 13 episodes ran in 2009, but A&E said it had reluctantly decided not to renew it for a second season.

When he first went public with the illness, some reports gave him only weeks to live, but his doctor said his situation was “considerably more optimistic” than that. Swayze acknowledged that time might be running out given the grim nature of the disease.

“I’d say five years is pretty wishful thinking,” Swayze told ABC‘s Barbara Walters in early 2009. “Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”

C. Thomas Howell, who costarred with Swayze in “The Outsiders,” “Grandview U.S.A.” and “Red Dawn,” said: “I have always had a special place in my heart for Patrick. While I was fortunate enough to work with him in three films, it was our passion for horses that forged a friendship between us that I treasure to this day. Not only did we lose a fine actor today, I lost my older ‘Outsiders’ brother.”

Other celebrities used Twitter to express condolences, and “Dirty Dancing” was the top trending topic for a while Monday night, trailed by several other Swayze films.

Ashton Kutcher — whose wife, Demi Moore, costarred with Swayze in “Ghost” — wrote: “RIP P Swayze.” Kutcher also linked to a YouTube clip of the actor poking fun at himself in a classic “Saturday Night Live” sketch, in which he played a wannabe Chippendales dancer alongside the corpulent — and frighteningly shirtless — Chris Farley.

Larry King wrote: “Patrick Swayze was a wonderful actor & a terrific guy. He put his heart in everything. He was an extraordinary fighter in his battle w Cancer.” King added that he’d do a tribute to Swayze on his CNN program on Tuesday night.

“I was such a huge fan of the movie, “Dirty Dancing”. I had the movie that I used to play in my VCR over and over again. My cousin and I would dance and try to do the lift he used do, but we just seemed to never get it right. He was such a great actor and he will surely be missed.”

Rest in Peace Patrick Swayze 1952 – 2009.

Notes: A surprise October 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, featuring Janet Jackson both on newsstands and the subscriber’s cover. Miss Jackson breaks the silence for the first time since Michael‘s death in a world exclusive interview for Harper’s Bazzar, which is already available at Bazaar’s website. More Janet Jackson images by Tom Munro including a few excerpts from the interview below.

In her first interview since her brother’s death, Janet talks to Harper’s Bazaar about how she coped in the days following Michael‘s passing. In the article, Janet reveals for the first time that she has indeed split with Jermaine Dupri, confirming rumors that they had broken up this summer.

The title of her new book “True You” is also confirmed and will be released next year. The article also states that her new album will come out next spring and that she will go on tour next year, however it does not explain whether the tour simply means a promotional tour or a concert tour.

ABCNews.com posted a photo of the magazine cover along with an article that contains some short portions of what Janet said in her Harper’s Bazaar interview.

Janet Jackson Opens Up About Losing Michael….Brotherly Love: The Pop Star Talks About Growing Up With the King of Pop…

There had always been a powerful bond between Janet Jackson and her brother, Michael. Perhaps this is why she says she hasn’t watched television or read a newspaper in the two months since her brother’s sudden death.

“I’d, I’d just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family,” the pop star told Harpers Bazaar. “And he will forever live in all of our hearts.”

She also opens up about her relationship with Michael and their last day together, and how she’s coped by immersing herself in a new album and book.

The Michael Jackson Only She Knew…

As a 14-year-old, it was Janet‘s job to take care of her superstar brother. “I would shop for him. I washed his clothes and cleaned his room. When mother would go out of town, she’d say, ‘I’m leaving you in charge. Take care of Michael.'”

She knew early on that her brother loved clothes that stood out. For the 25th Anniversary of Motown special, Michael grabbed his famous sparkly black jacket from his mother’s closet.

“If it was shiny, if it had any kind of bling, he loved it,” Janet said. Except for his shoes. He danced them down to the soles. “He would wear his shoes all the way down,” remembered Janet. “His penny loafers would have huge holes in the bottom.”

She recalls the joy of making the 1995 music video “Scream” with her brother. “We had so much fun back then. We would organize our days together.”

She also fondly remembers the last time she saw Michael — a month before his death.

“The last time we were together, he’d laugh so hard, he’d just start crying.”

In 2002, Janet told Diane Sawyer how important her brothers were to her.

“I was close to my brothers growing up, and I missed them a great deal when they would go out on tour,” she recalls. She admits that she used binge eating as a way to cope with the pain of their absence.

“I can be an emotional eater,” she says. “Of late, I have been doing that, yes. It started when I was very little. My brothers were gone on tour a lot, and I would miss them so much.”

Moving On as a Family…

Jackson says that they are going through the ordeal of her brother’s death as a family. She’s especially proud of Michael‘s children, Blanket, Prince Michael and, especially, Paris. She said that people have told her that the way that Michael‘s daughter spoke at his memorial really gave them a sense of how he was as a father.

She says the kids are doing well. “They’re with their cousins,” she says. “That family love will keep them going.”

Gracing Pages: Ginuwine Graces J’Adore Magazine

https://i0.wp.com/jadoremag.com/mag/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/ginuwine3.jpg

There are several stars in the music world who consistently radiate light. They become the envy of the men and rule the hearts of women. Multi-platinum R&B crooner Elgin Baylor aka Ginuwine is one such individual. The 33-year-old heartthrob is an absolute personification of his name and has returned to win over the hearts of fans once again. His sultry sex appeal is best remembered on Billboard hits such as “Pony,” “Differences,” and “In Those Jeans.”

Four years have passed since Ginuwine released his last full length project, 2005’s Back II Da Basics. His latest single “Last Chance” from his recently released new album, A Man’s Thoughts, marks the return to the familiar sound his fans have grown to love. As he confidently relays on the stellar new track, “If I only got one shot to win you, then call me Jordan, 4th quarter in ‘92,” he re-asserts that his persuasive vocals are indeed still on point. On a picturesque afternoon in Los Angeles, Ginuwine shares thoughts on his new album, the state of music today and why he needed to take a hiatus from the industry.

“Music is the key to everything,” Ginuwine says with a smile. “I saw Michael Jackson on the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever Special in 1983 and the reaction he received inspired me to move people in the same way.” The Washington D.C. native would use that motivation to later become an impressionist of the King of Pop and perform in local talent shows with a group by the name Physical Wonder. After graduating from Forestville High School in 1993, he went on to earn a paralegal associate’s degree from Prince George’s Community College just in case his pursuits in music did not work out. However, Ginuwine was never worried; he knew he had a special gift. “I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t try,” he explains.

In her article “The Boy Who Would Be King,” one of two cover stories in the September 2009 issue, Robinson recounts numerous interviews with Jackson, beginning with their first meeting at his family’s home in Encino, California, in 1972, when Michael was 14.

Farrah‘s cover was photograped by Bruce McBroom taken in 1976 on the same day she was photographed in her famous red bathing suit.
