[The Jackson Family visit Micheal Jackson grave on the 1st Anniversary of his death at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at Glendale, California.]
On the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, Janet, Randy, Tito and Jermaine Jackson gathered at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif. to pay their respects.
The group — all dressed in black — arrived around 11 a.m. PT and entered through a back entrance of the mausoleum in which Michael is interned. About 500 fans also quietly gathered, many wearing sequined jackets or white gloves, according to a witness.
Michael‘s children Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8, were not in attendance. They were last publicly spotted in Hawaii Thursday with their grandmother (and legal guardian), Katherine Jackson.
“Sorry Big Bro, for not getting ur children there on the anniversary of ur last day. I tried,” Twittered Randy.
Katherine traveled to Michael‘s hometown of Gary, Ind. Friday afternoon, where she unveiled a marble memorial of her son. A cell-phone vigil was also held in broad daylight outside Michael‘s childhood home.
Joe Jackson filed a wrongful death suit against Michael‘s doctor, Conrad Murray, Friday at the federal court in downtown Los Angeles, TMZ.com reported. Joe claims Dr. Murray withheld information from doctors and EMTs that could have saved Michael‘s life, and he’s suing the doctor for unspecified damages as a result. (A federal court clerk told the site there was a “mistake” in the paperwork, though, so the lawsuit will have to be refiled.)
R.I.P. Michael Jackson, you will forever be missed.
Blanket and Paris Jackson have become YouTube sensations in new videos posted on the internet.
Michael Jackson‘s children, aged 9 and 12, respectively can be seen clowning around in front a webcam, reenacting scenes from movies and lip-synching to rap music in the home-made clips. Blanket, real name Prince Michael II wields a pretend lightsabre as he shows off his acting skills in a Star Wars skit. Later he drops in a reference to animated film Monsters Inc.
While Paris shows her love for hip-hop music by miming to rap song supposedly recorded by family friend Omer Bhatti.
According to reports, the webcam clips may have originated from the French-language fansite Kingsofpop-kids.com, according to E! News online.
I’m so glad to see these kids feeling like they don’t need to hide anymore. It was nice to see another side of them and actually being normal kids. Your thoughts?
The elder Jackson praises Michael‘s daughter Paris, saying that he believes the young girl wants to do something in Hollywood show business.
On Friday, July 10, Joe Jackson had an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” during when he expressed his strong belief that Michael Jackson‘s children could have bright futures should they try their hands in showbiz. The elder Jackson especially made a reference to Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, who delivered a touching eulogy during Michael‘s memorial service earlier this week.
“I don’t know – I keep watching Paris,” he said in a statement, before then adding, “She … wants to do something.” Joe, moreover, also has his eyes on Prince Michael Jackson II a.k.a. Blanket, revealing “As far as I can see, well, they say Blanket, he can really dance. That’s what they’re saying. He can really dance.” Joe, however, made no mention of Michael‘s eldest son, Prince Michael Jackson Jr.
On the same interview, Joe was asked about whom he thinks should get the custody of Michael‘s children, and his response was, “The grandmother, Katherine, and I. There’s no one else to do what we can do for them. We should keep them all together and make them happy. And feed them like they’re supposed to be fed. And let them get rest … and grow up to be strong Jacksons.”
Since Michael‘s sudden death on June 25, his mother Katherine Jackson remains the children’s temporary legal guardian. Custody of Prince Michael Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, and Prince Michael Jackson II will be determined on a court hearing scheduled for July 20.
