“He Was Not My Bodyguard, He Was My Cousin & My Friend!”

Grammy-winning rapper Nelly‘s cousin, Michael Johnson, was murdered this week in Missouri after being fatally shot. Based on reports, the murder took place on Wednesday (April 28).
A murder investigation is hitting close to home for St. Louis rap star, Nelly. Multiple sources close to Nelly tell News 11 the victim was one of Nelly’s bodyguards. The victim is 36 year old Michael Johnson sources describe him as Nelly’s left hand man, or someone who was by the rapper’s side providing security. St. Louis county police responded to a home on Nola, near north Hanley Wednesday night just before midnight. Johnson was shot several times. (KDVR News).

Further details suggest Johnson‘s death occurred at his home. A man who St. Louis hip-hop star Nelly referred to as his cousin (or, rather his “cuzzen”) was killed Wednesday night outside a home in the 8000 block of Nola, near the intersection of N. Hanley and St. Charles Rock Road. Michael Johnson, 36, was shot multiple times while leaving or entering the home in unincorporated St. Louis County. Police have no suspects or motives for the crime. Nelly has since confirmed the reports and aired out a local news station for its false reporting.

“Contrary to some reports micheal johnson wasnt my bodyguard!he was my cuzzen and my friend!!I will always luv n miss u MJ!!!!!,” he wrote late Thursday night. “Channel 2 stl don’t Ever have 2worry about another interview from me or a stlunatic ever again!! There not invited 2any of my functions!! Why would you channel 2 mix me giving away scholarships 2students with the murder of my cuzzen after I told u I didn’t want 2talk about it Ino its your right chnnel 2 but Y is it when a brother goes to do good they wanna make the bad the headline?thanx for the home town support After watching channel 2’s broadcast its clear to me about motives!my cuzzen deserved his own segment as well as the 2 deserving students!! I’m NEVER WATCHING CHANNEL 2 news in stl ever again!!! STLOUIS SPREAD THE WORD!!!” (Nelly’s Twitter)

Earlier this month, Nelly confronted alleged groupie Kat Stacks in an interview.

“Sweetheart, all you have to tell me is what hotel did we f*ck in,” Nelly said during a radio interview. “You have to tell me one that we’ve been f*cking around at for two months. Tell me one of them, please…I’ve been exposed? You lie. You can’t tell me one hotel. You can’t tell me one hotel in two months that you’ve seen me at ever in your life…And find that hotel we f*cked at because you said it was several of them. Why is it you can go into details about everybody else but me? Why we ain’t got no details? What happened? Get the f*ck out of here. I can’t even understand her. Let me go get my son. It’s to your best interest to quit with the lies. She knows she’s lying. I know one motherf*ck that didn’t touch her. I know one for sure.” (Shade 45)

Eminem Has More Beef Against Mariah Carey….

On Thursday, the rapper debuted a new song, “The Warning,” slamming his ex and going into full detail about a sexual encounter they once had.

“Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me. Now I’m pissed off,” he says before he starts his rap.

“You wanna hear something wick wack?/ I got the same exact tattoo that’s on Nick’s back,” he says, referring to Carey’s husband Nick Cannon.

Eminem also blasts Carey for mocking him in her latest music video, “Obsessed.”

“Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?/ Wow Mariah, didn’t expect ya to go b—s out./ B—h, shut the f— up before I put all those phone calls out/ When you was wilding out/ Before Nick, when you was on my di–,” he raps.

He then threatens to reveal personal pictures he has of the Carey. “Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?” he asks.

The feud between the two began earlier this year after Eminem namedropped Carey in the track “Bagpipes From Baghdad” from his latest album Relapse.

“Mariah whatever happened to us / Why did we ever have to break-up?” he rapped. “Nick Cannon, you better back the f— up. I’m not playing, I want her back, you punk.”

Cannon later shot back on his blog, calling the rapper (who goes by the name “Slim Shady”) “Slim Lamey.” He added that Eminem is “still obsessed with my wife, the same female that wouldn’t let him get to second base from 8 years ago.” A month or so later, Carey got the last laugh by mocking Eminem in “Obsessed.”

Music News: Jay-Z Speaks Out About Chris Brown & The Game

In an interview with English deejay Tim Westwood, Jay-Z took time to address several hot-button issues, the first of which was Chris Brown.

Jay-Z denied rumors that he had Brown‘s scheduled Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards canceled. “First, let me categorically deny that. That’s not even my style. If I got a problem with Chris Brown, I got a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything – I haven’t said anything live, or behind the scenes. Whatever. I don’t agree with what he did, and that’s it.”

Moving onto other controversies, Jay spoke about The Game, whom he mentioned in a freestyle live in concert, which ilicited a harsh response from the west coast rapper. Jay-Z was careful to point out that he in the freestyle that he was not talking about Game. “Tell groupie to get over it,” concluded Hov.

During the interview, Jay also confirmed that his next single will indeed feature Rihanna and Kanye West in favor of one with Drake. As previously reported, the singer is titled “Run This Town.”

Music News: Lil Wayne Mentions 50 Cent’s Name In Leaked Song

Lil Wayne is featured on a song which was leaked on the internet today (March 20) of the late Pimp C entitled “Let’s Talk Money” mixed with a chorus from T-Pain. In the song, Pimp C feat. Lil Wayne & T-Pain – Let’s Talk Money, Lil Wayne throws 50 Cent’s name in his verse pertaining to a conversation he supposedly had with the late Pimp C.

“That nigga Pimp called me before he left this bitch/told me keep doing ya thing and don’t tell 50 shit,” Lil Wayne spits in the verse.

Lil Wayne in recent interviews has avoided any hip-hop beef whatsoever with rapper 50 Cent who has on multiple times taken aim at rapper Lil Wayne in numerous ways. The supposed disses from 50 Cent are reportedly targeted at Weezy (Lil Wayne) due to the rapper being quoted as the ‘greatest rapper alive’ in numerous reports dating back a couple of years ago.

In a recent report, the rapper was questioned about his song ‘Lousianimal‘ which reportedly was a diss aimed at 50 Cent, but there were questions by 50 Cent as to when the “Lousianimal” song was leaked by Lil Wayne or not. Even in this response, Lil Wayne somewhat avoided hip-hop beef with 50 Cent by answering the question with sarcasm.

“You said it never rains in Southern California? Wow. That’s why I didn’t see people with umbrellas,” Wayne responded when asked about 50 Cent’s question regarding his song Lousianimal.

Currently Lil Wayne is out on tour for his “I Am Music Tour” which includes headliners T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Gym Class Heroes and Gorilla Zoe. The tour wraps up April 10 with the last stop hitting Hoffman Estates, IL.
