Music In Ya Ear!: Rihanna – “A Child is Born”

Rihanna gets into the Christmas spirit with her new reggae-inspired Christmas song, “A Child Is Born.” Christmas is still roughly two months away, but Rihanna had released a snippet of the new reggae-flavoured Christmas song back in September and let me start off by saying that it really got me into the Christmas spirit. It’s a huge change from the usual festive ballads, Rihanna has gone for an upbeat sound on the track.

The song is featured on a compilation album titled ‘Now That’s What I Call Christmas, Vol. 4,’ which was released yesterday (Tuesday, October 12).

The new album consists of 36 tracks, which will be split on 2 discs (No you don’t have to go out and buy two separate albums, they are both in one album).  As for the other tracks included on the album, will include, Lady GaGa‘s “Christmas Tree”, Britney Spears‘ “My Only Wish (This Year),” Christina Aguilera’s “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” Kelly Rowland’s “Wonderful Christmastime” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.

Rihanna had also recently announced that the song “Only Girl (In The World)” will be the first track to be taken from her next album “Loud”, which will be released in November.

‘I didn’t want to go backward and remake [2008 album] ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna,’ she said during a webchat on her official website Rihannanow.com.

‘I’m gonna miss the [2009 album] ‘Rated R’ era too, but NOTHING compares to the album I just made.’

Out & About: Rihanna Hosts A Bachelorette Party For Katy Perry à la Cirque Du Soleil Along With Strippers

Katy Perry isn’t letting her fiance’s recent arrest get in the way of her having a good time as she celebrated on Saturday her bachelorette party.

Perry, sporting a veil from the bottom of the back of her bikini (think a peacock), arrived at Las Vegas’s Hard Rock Hotel Beach Club pool with an entourage of 25 who included Rihanna and inflatable objects consistent with bachelorette parties, People.com reported.

The large group reportedly went unnoticed as they indulged on champagne, beer and vodka and feasted on finger foods in their VIP cabana.

Perry, wearing a white bikini and sunglasses, appeared to be at ease, she may have been gearing up for a crazier alcohol-fueled night. Shortly after arriving at the pool, she tweeted, “Signing up for a liver transplant now.”

Perry laughed with her friends and briefly danced to the music, but seemed to relish the relaxing environment.

Following their time at pool, Perry and friends reportedly hopped into a stretch Hummer limo to check out Cirque Du Soleil’s “KA” at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, with Perry sporting a lively looking D&G gown. The night, however, was far from over.

Following dinner at Ago, the group headed to XS nightclub, where they sat in a VIP table. Perry, wearing a sparkling black cocktail dress and miniature top hat with a veil. Though Perry and RiRi remained low-key as they sipped Grey Goose at the club, the night was nowhere near finished for the bride-to-be and her BFF, who organized the Sin City event.

Following the club, the group reportedly headed over to Sapphire strip club,where Perry was spotted checking out the female dancers who danced to her songs. She also apparently received a lap dance of  her own from a blonde dancer before the group headed to a private skybox – away from the public’s eye.

The singer’s bachelorette party comes one day after her fiancé Russell Brand was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for attacking a photographer. According to police, Brand, 35, was set off by one of the paparazzi aiming a camera up Perry‘s dress.

The photographer made a citizen’s arrest of the star, who was then taken into custody and arrested for misdemeanor battery. After the incident, Perry tweeted, “If you cross the line & try an[d] put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me.”

Back in April, Rihanna had spilled the beans that Perry and Brand will return to the site of their New Year’s Eve engagement in India to tie the knot later this year.

Nicki Minaj pulls out of Rihanna‘s “Last Girl on Earth Tour,“ just two days after Rihanna‘s announcement that the “Black Barbie” would open the show alongside Ke$ha. “Barbz I’m sorry…,” tweeted the 26 year old rapper on April 7th, as she explained to fans that she will be too busy working on her upcoming album to tour.

Celebrity News: Rihanna Under Investigation for illegally tattooing several people?

Everyone knows that Rihanna is a tattoo trendsetter, but authorities in New York City are investigating claims that pop star Rihanna illegally tattooed several people at East Side Ink on Wednesday evening, MTV News reported.

Rihanna was caught by the paparazzi with a tattoo instrument in her hand, reportedly inking people at the tattoo parlor. And now, the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are looking into the alleged incident.

“Only licensed tattoo artists can administer tattoos in the city according to the City’s Health Code,” the NYDHMH told MTV News in a statement. “We are sending someone to follow up on this.”

East Side Ink owner Yadira told the music channel that Rihanna came to the shop with some friends and stayed for “a few hours, just hanging out and joking,” the woman said. “She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist Bang Bang,” says East Side Ink owner Yadira.

Riri gave her buddy and the other artists one of her signature signs.

“She tattooed us for a change,” says Yadira. “It’s a little umbrella with a capital R underneath it. The second and third had a number two and a number three next to it.”

Later, BangBang a tattooist at the parlor, the same man who gave Rihanna her infamous gun tattoo underneath her arm earlier this year, wanted the pop star to put some ink on him. “He decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her, and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well.” “We had a blast,” Yadira said. “It was so funny and cute.”

Still, Yadira says it’s only illegal if she is making a profit. And as for Rihanna facing any legal drama, an NYPD spokeswoman tells E! News. “Someone would have to make a complaint. There’s been none that we know of.”

Who would complain? Most people—and probably even Lindsay—would love such a unique souvenir.

According to TMZ, however, the fun could lead to a fine. Tattooing without a license comes with penalties; $300 for the first offense, $500 for the second and $1,000 for the third.

A rep for the “Umbrella” singer was not immediately available for comment.

Police has finally wrapped up their three week investigation and are ready to move forward, but word is that now the damn DA is confused:

Cops have wrapped up their three-week investigation into singer Chris Brown’s alleged beating of pop sensation Rihanna, officials said Tuesday.

“The District Attorney does have the case,” LAPD media spokesman Richard French told the Daily News.

Prosecutors, however, said they haven’t seen anything yet.

“It’s not true. There’s been no meeting, no new information,” said DA spokeswoman Jane Robison.

Rihanna may have spent the weekend in Miami with Chris Brown, but her family isn’t quite ready for the tumultuous couple to reunite. “Everyone wants them to take a break, to cool off,” a relative of Rihanna tells [said] after the pair returned to Los Angeles together early Monday morning. “No one wants them back together.”

Family thought that the relationship was over after Brown allegedly battered Rihanna on Feb. 8. The couple went their own ways for awhile – he went home, while she recuperated in Barbados and Mexico – but the separation was short-lived.

“I’m concerned,” continues the relative. “I don’t want her to make a mistake, and I don’t want her to ever go through his again.”

But the entire trip wasn’t devoted to the relationship. While in Miami, Brown did some recording at a studio designed by Lenny Kravitz located in the Setai hotel. “He was here to record,” a source told PEOPLE. He also spent some time Jet skiing at the beach.

The couple left Miami early Monday morning on the same plane, arriving in Southern California.

The story of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s tainted love continues. Now that the on-again has couple returned to L.A. together, OK! has learned exclusively that the pair — rather than go to either of their L.A.-area homes — immediately checked into the posh surroundings of the Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills hotel.

According to a new report, Chris seems to have been so desperate to prove that he and RiRi are working things out that he may have even called a photographer on Saturday night to tip him off that the couple would be going out.

Fortunately for Rihanna, security kept the cameras away, that night. However the couple wasn’t so lucky last night as they left Miami Beach. The controversial duo were spotted Sunday night at Miami International Airport, covering their faces as they boarded a private jet.
