Watch It!: ‘So Kodak’ Commercials

Rihanna, Drake, Trey Songz, and Pitbull star in a new Kodak commercial featuring the new Kodak Easyshare M590. It’s the only digital camera with a share button.

In the ‘So Kodak’ commercial, Rihanna attends a fashion show with friends and commemorates the occasion with photos and videos taken on a Kodak digital camera. Then, saying “Boom!” she clicks the share button, which effortlessly transports the footage via social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube, as well as email.

Rihanna says:

“I am excited to team up with Kodak on this project. I am an avid fan of photography and love taking pictures, so this was a natural fit for me,” said Rihanna. “Being on tour, traveling around the world, I have so many cool moments that I have captured on my camera.”

Music News: Beyonce’ is Smokin’ Hot in New Music Video “Why Don’t You Love Me?”

A chain-smoking, teary eyed Beyonce’ plays “B.B. Homemaker” in her latest video, “Why Don’t You Love Me?” The song was written by her sister, Solange Knowles.
In the video, Beyonce’ portrays a homemaker from the 1950s era. The video gives off an old school feel as the Diva does everything from scrubbing floors to baking cookies, (all while looking completely fabulous of course)!

B.B. Homemaker tells her lover, “I got beauty, I got class/I got style and I got ass,” as she pleads to him trying to make sense of why he doesn’t love her. She ends strongly in a Dominatrix costume singing, “There’s nothin’ not to love about me/Maybe you’re just not the one/Or maybe you’re just plain dumb.”

Check out the songs powerful lyrics:

Now, now, now, honey
You better sit down and look around
Cause you must’ve bumped yo’ head
And I love you enough to talk some sense back into you, baby
I’d hate to see you come home, me the kids
And the dog is gone
Check my credentials…
I give you everything you want everything you need
Even your friends say I’m a good woman
All I need to know is why?

Why don’t you love me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you love me
When I make me so damn easy to love?
And why don’t you need me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you need me
When I make me so damn easy to need?

I got beauty, I got class
I got style, and I got ass
And you don’t even care to care
Looka here
I even put money in the bank account
Don’t have to ask no one to help me out
You don’t even notice that

Why don’t you love me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you love me
When I make me so damn easy to love?
Why don’t you need me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you need me
When I make me so damn easy to need?

I got beauty, I got heart
Keep my head in them books, I’m sharp
But you don’t care to know I’m smart
Now, now now now now now now
I got moves in your bedroom
Keep you happy with the nasty things I do
But you don’t seem to be in tune
Ooh…..

Why don’t you love me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you love me
When I make me so damn easy to love?
Why don’t you need me?
Tell me, baby, why don’t you need me
When I make me so damn easy to need?

There’s nothing not to love about me
No, no, there’s nothing not to love about me
I’m lovely
There’s nothing not to need about me
No, no, there’s nothing not to need about me
Maybe you’re just not the one
Or maybe you’re just plain……. DUMB

Music In Ya Ear!: Cassie Feat. Diddy – This Must Be Love

Video of the Week!…Here’s the newly released video for Cassie’s “This Must Be Love” featuring Diddy.

“The song is ok, I think it could be better. I’m a Bad Boy Fan, but this video was not one of my favorite ones. What do you think of the video?”

51st Annual Grammy Awards Recap

Here’s the my brief re-cap of this years Grammy awards ceremony.

Performances:

* U2 kicks the show off with their newest single “Get On Your Boots” off of the new album No Line on the Horizon.
* Al Green, Keith Urban, Justin Timberlake and Boyz II Men perform together in place of Rihanna and Chris Brown.
* Coldplay performed “Lost+”. Set starts off with Chris Martin at piano solo and later joined by Jay-Z to spit his verse. Chris cuts that song and goes to the stage and the rest of the band appears and they perform “Viva La Vida”.
* Carrie Underwood performs.
* Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus perform together.
* Jonas Brothers perform with Stevie Wonder.
* One of the performances of the night for me was “Swagger Like Us” with T.I., Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and a very pregnant M.I.A. The performance started off with M.I.A. doing a verse of “Paper Planes”, the sample of which “Swagger Like Us” came from. When she hit the words “…swagger like us”, out appeared the four gentlemen above. M.I.A.’s outfit was a bit out there, not my favorite, but I guess her style has always been out there that and add to the fact that she was due to give birth that very day.
* Paul McCartney featuring Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters on the drums. Performing The Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There”, but Ringo Starr was not to be found on stage.
* Radiohead performance with the USC Trojans Marching band backing, probably one of the better performances of the night for sure.
* T.I. and Justin Timberlake perform “Dead and Gone”
* The Grammys honor and remember Motown legends The Four Tops, doing a medley of songs were Smokie Robinson, Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx and remaining member of The Four Tops, Duke Fakir.

Awards:

* Jennifer Hudson wins Best R&B album of the year. That was teary-eyed moment for me. She deserved it!

* Song of the year went to Coldplay for their song “Viva La Vida”.
* Best Pop collaboration went to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. WTF!!
* Blink 182 members come out together to announce they’re coming back to do work as well as presenting the Best Rock album, which went to Coldplay.
* Best New Artist award went to Adele.
* In another “WTF?” moment, Record of the year went to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. On the real, it beat out some deep competition.
* Best Rap Album went to Lil Wayne for Tha Carter III. Good for him, competition was a bit tough, I’m a fan of all the artists that were nominated under that category.

“One of my favorite moments was seeing M.I.A. perform on stage with T.I., Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne, and Jay-Z. I have to tell you that performance gave me the chills. I was waiting to see if M.I.A was going to stop her performance in the middle of it all and say she was in labor. As a mother myself, that performance was the best. She told E! news in an interview on the red carpet, that she was yet to know what the sex of her baby will be. I think it’s going to be a boy. What are your thoughts?”

New Talent: Ieshia ~ An Artist on the Rise

“Still Standing”, the first single from R&B/Rap artist Ieshia is a laid back track that talks about surviving whatever is thrown at you and coming out stronger for it. It talks about strength and hope and celebrating the human spirit that allows us to do so. It’s not a surprising choice, considering her background.

Since the day she was born, her life has been an exercise in survival. Born into a musical home, the would-be star would suffer heart failure twice before she even got home from the hospital. She bounced back from her medical issues to become an active child and got her start in music by doing what so many before her have done: singing in church.

Before she would graduate High School, Ieshia would suffer the loss of her mother and the grandmother who raised her after her mother’s death. Reeling from these losses, the budding singer focused all her energy into making the dream they had shared with her come true. She recorded an album with Pimptown Entertainment (a deal her Grandmother had helped her secure, as Ieshia was too young to do so herself at the time) and was forging ahead with appearances. The bookings were being done by the same agent that secured gigs for Destiny’s Child, Yolanda Adams and other such acts. It was looking like nothing was going to stop her.

Hurricane Katrina. The storm came to Louisiana and New Orleans in 2005, devastating communities and leaving little in its path. Along with her home and many of her possessions, Ieshia’s recordings and promotional materials had also been destroyed. She was back to square one with little money left to recreate it all. The singer had to get creative if she was going to piece it all back together again.

A letter written by her husband and the CEO of her company was the first step. The letter detailed her situation and what she was hoping to accomplish with the help of others in the Industry. This letter would eventually find its way to legendary artist Chuck D and Giana Garel. The duo read her letter live on their radio show and before long, many stepped in to help the singer get her career going again by sending her tracks and other assistance. All they asked for in return was for her to do design work for them.

The exposure from all this helped Ieshia to appear on “How She Move” as well as the CW’s “Dig it or Diss it”. Since then, she has managed to build a large fan base at home and abroad through her MySpace Music page and is preparing for her album release. The recording, also titled Still Standing, is scheduled to be released sometime in 2008.

Because of everything she has gone through, she is also planning to release a book called Gigster. The book will detail helpful hints for artists looking to get their names out there and will eventually become a service dedicated to offering transportation and other assistance to aspiring artists. Will Ieshia become the next Ciara or Rhianna? Only time will tell. No matter what the future brings, she’s sure to be “still standing” at the end.

If you wanna see more, check out my interview with her on my old pop blog. It’s quite the read. Also, check out this video of her via her youtube performing Still Standing
